DONT BUY A RAV 4!!

My car has a lot of issues, if its not the radiator fan, its the fuel pump or the fuel filter or the fuel hose OR it will be the oil filter and so on and so forth..............the car has turned me into a mechanic, I go to the spare parts market(Ladipo or Daleko) in mushin myself. If my car grunts, squieks or even stops, in a few minutes..........i know whats wrong- A fact that annoys my driver and mechanic to the core because they cannot easily exploit me for money under the pretense of repairing my car.

I have come to the conclusion that i need a new car and i want a RAV4. Just a teeny tiny two door RAV4. I dont like SUV's or big cars but I NEED the smallest RAV4 i can find because its the rainy season and that turns my area into a Riverine area- the floods are terrible and im tired of buying new parts for my car evry rainy season!

So i was telling my parents that i want to buy a RAV 4 and my mom said "Dont buy a RAV 4!!" Pls dont buy a RAV4!! You will scare away suitors!................Would you believe my father agreed with her?
My response was "I dont want any guy who cant step up to me because of the car i drive"

Do you agree with them? That i will drive suitors away because of the kind of car i want to drive? Am i supposed to seem like im in need so that guys would step up to me?? What the hell?? Whose theory is this anyway??

lol, parent of a certain genaration think this way. Now whether u get the rav 4 depends on whose paying for it. Usually good sense prevails over this suitor arguement but alot of times it may not.Goodluck and I hope you get it

That's the general school of thought in Nigeria,i actually had an aunty who was doing really well-lovely cars, great house and all.The family told her she was driving suitors away and so should move back in with her parents-lo and behold she got married within a year.Do you think that family will change their stance when they were proved "right".
I just think guys are different, you will find those that think like this and you will also find those that care what you have or don't have. You can get the "cheapest" rav 4 if that's the car you really want, try and convince your parents, they might just understand

Lol. i got this from my parents when i wanted to buy a car last year, funny enough i wanted a RAV 4 too,i ended up not buying it as my dad said who would come and speak to you in a RAV 4? to which i replied well hopefully he would be in a G wagon or a range or something, but what does it matter anyway, thats just how our parents think jare.

i don't think it's so much about the car. I think it's more about the person behind the wheels. if you give the wrong vibe, a guy could be intimidated. if you give the right vibe, the same guy could be inspired. i think we guys are all afraid of rejection so whether you drive a RAV4 or don't have a car at all, we just need you to give us some assurance that we wouldn't be rejected. or at least not harshly.

when i went for Tminx beach party, i almost did a double back when i saw the posh cars packed infront of Chaka Ville. i mean, i had just spent over 3hrs hopping from one cab, to one bus to one bike to get to the venue. but when i had lunch with Ore at the galleria, i wasn't ashamed to let her know i wasn't comfortable with a lot of the stuff in their eateries.

My sister wanted to buy a simple 190 Benz about 5 years ago and she fot adviced by all and sundry on how she would turn into an old maid. At first, my dad was on their side, but he later realised that anyone that wanted his daughter to drop what comfort she could afford would do well to hang back and never come forward.

Am sorry you turned me off after a two door rav4. What nonsense! I mean seriously, its a rav4, a cute suv, I mean we cringe at the fact that its smallish already you now want to buy the two door version...MEN! Save your money and ride cabs o jare :)

Ok now that have tackled that annoying thought of a two door cross over SUV, lets discuss your parents, first may God grant you your own husband....
And I don't see what is wrong with a rav4, if you mentioned Benz or Lexus now, I would have raised a brow, but a two door Rav4, well, it can't cause damage, and anyone that it intimidates should be far from you in the first place :)

Anyhoo, Ravs are good cars but maybe you just have a faulty one. With cars and electronics u just gotta cross your fingers and hope you dont get one that will give u problems.

Gosh you share some weirdly similar life stories with a close friend of mine...ahah abi na you X____.Lol.I feel your parents on the suitor talk but on the other hand it all really depends on the places you hang out at and the crowd you mix with. A RAV4 is a cute car for a kiddo like you though.Lol. Just be prepared to attract a certain breed of men, not necessarily the right ones. Nothing is certain, with or without the RAV4.
